Kitchen Hack: Popcorn

Did you know that if you soak popcorn kernels in water for 10 minutes, dry them and then pop them, you will have less un-popped kernels and they will be extra fluffy.  If you want them to taste more like the movie theater variety, use coconut oil instead of vegetable oil to pop them.  There is no valid excuse for popcorn to be boring.  Bypass the standard salt shaker and try some different flavor combinations.

Hack #4: Better popcorn

Step 1 – Remember the ratio of 1 tablespoon of coconut oil for every 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels using a stove top method.

Step 2 – Once popped, raid your pantry for seasoning ideas.  Sprinkle a little curry powder, cayenne pepper, a mixture of cinnamon and sugar or even dried herbs and grated pecorino romano cheese.  Get creative!
